The size chart is the size conversion grid associated with a brand. It serves two purposes:
- On the ERP side: it defines the list of sizes allowed for each model of the brand.
- On the Shopify side: it feeds the size table shown on the website's product sheet.
Without a correctly filled-in size chart, no product from the brand can be synchronized.
Concept
A size chart is defined for a Brand + Type pair. The type indicates which category of items the grid applies to:
| Type | Which items |
|---|---|
Generic / Men / Women / Youth / Kids |
Different shoe fits. |
Clothes - top |
Upper body clothing (t-shirt, shirt, sweatshirt, jacket). |
Clothes - bottom |
Lower body clothing (trousers, shorts, joggers). |
Clothes - accessories |
Accessories (cap, bracelet, plush toy, bag). |
A given model is linked to a single Brand + Type pair. A brand can have as many size charts as needed (one per product type it sells).
Entering a size chart
Product catalog > Product models > Edit size guides. The Size guide page opens.
Steps:
- Select the brand from the dropdown menu at the top.
- Select the desired type (Men, Women, Clothes - topβ¦). The entry table appears.
- Build the grid:
- The table has one row per measurement system (US / UK / EU / CM) and one column per size.
- Add a column / Remove a column buttons to adjust the number of sizes.
- Add a row / Remove a row buttons to add or remove a measurement system.
- On the left of each row, a dropdown sets the measurement system (US / UK / EU / CM).
- Enter the conversions in each cell. For shoes, you typically fill in all 4 systems (US / UK / EU / CM); each column represents a size.
- Save.
Example adidas size chart β Men
Col 1 Col 2 Col 3 Col 4 ...
US 4 4.5 5 5.5
UK 3.5 4 4.5 5
EU 36 36 2/3 37 1/3 38
CM 22.5 23 23.5 24Good to know β When creating a new model, the ERP checks that a size chart exists for the selected Brand + Type pair. If the grid is incomplete (for example, your variant's size doesn't appear in the size chart), Shopify synchronization is blocked until the missing size is added.
Special case: Women's, Youth, Kids
For adidas (for example), a "Women's" model must point to the brand's Women size chart, not the generic one. The same applies to Youth / Kids. This prevents men's sizes from appearing on a Women's product sheet.
