For a product to appear on Shopify, several conditions must be met at the same time on the model, on its variants, and on stock availability. Here is the full checklist, from the highest to the lowest level.
On the model (catalog)
| Field | Condition |
|---|---|
| SKU | Filled in, unique. |
| Product name | Filled in. |
| Brand | Filled in and consistent (an adidas model must have the adidas brand, not Air Jordan). |
| Size chart type | Filled in (Men / Women / Generic / Clothes - top…). |
| Brand size chart | Exists for the Brand + Type pair, and includes all the sizes of the model's variants. |
| Shopify taxonomy | Filled in (Shopify category, e.g. Apparel & Accessories > Shoes > Sneakers). |
| Unit weight (kg) | Filled in. Required for sending to Shopify (shipping cost estimates). |
| Display status | "Active". |
On the variants (the model's products)
At least one variant must satisfy one of these two scenarios:
| Scenario | Conditions |
|---|---|
| In-store sale | A public price > 0 set on the variant. |
| Dropshipping | A dropshipping price > 0 and a maximum number of products available for dropshipping ≥ 1. |
In addition:
- At least one variant with Active status must exist.
- No variant may have a size missing from the parent size chart (e.g. size "5W" on a Men's model: must be corrected before synchronization).
On the stock
For a physical unit to appear on Shopify (and therefore be purchasable by a customer):
| Condition | Description |
|---|---|
| E-commerce availability enabled | Toggle checked on the stock sheet (or the "Shopify available" column in the stock list). |
| "In stock" status | Any other value (Sold, Listed on GOAT, Reserved online…) automatically delists the unit from Shopify. |
| City linked to a Shopify location | The storage city must be associated with a Shopify location (see Configuration > Shopify locations). |
Good to know — You can quickly check the connection under Settings > Shopify > Product management: a counter shows the total number of products in your database and the total number of products synchronized with Shopify.
