An internal return is used to bring back into stock units that were previously sent out. There are three sub-types, depending on the operation that sent the unit out:
| Sub-type | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Return - deposit | Get back units that were previously deposited with another company (cancellation or simple deposit return). The original units are set back to the In stock status on the original company's side. |
| B2B return | Process the return of units sold / shipped in a business sale on behalf of the original company. This operation automatically creates a shipment (from the original company to the final customer). |
Step 1 — Return information
Menu Commerce > Internal warehouses, New return button (top right of the list).
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Return type | Return - deposit / B2B return / Return - web order. Required. Determines how the operation behaves. |
| Receiving company | Company that gets the units back. Required in multi-company setups. |
Step 1 — New storage location
- City and Location where the units will be stored after receipt.
Both are required.
Step 2 — Add the products
Add a product from stock field: autocomplete or scan.
Depending on the sub-type, extra columns appear in the table:
- Return - deposit / Return - web order: just the product, its size, its internal ID, its owner.
- B2B return: in addition, a Selling price incl. VAT field per line (useful for invoicing the shipment that will be generated).
Tip — B2B return with a partner ID
For B2B returns coming from consignment listings (at an external partner), an extra Link a partner ID field appears. You can enter the partner ID of each line after scanning it, to make reconciliation easier, just as in a regular shipment of the Consignment type.
Step 3 — For a B2B return only: shipment panel
When the sub-type is B2B return, a Shipment information panel appears at the bottom of the form. This is the shipment that will be automatically generated upon confirmation, to reflect the invoicing of the sale on the receiving company's side:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Shipment type | Direct sale / Consignment / Consignment listing / GOAT Consign. |
| Move to "In preparation" before "In transit"? | Toggle. Standard. |
| Multi-company shipment | Toggle (in case units come from several original companies). |
| Shipment name | The shipment's reference. Required. |
| Tracking number | Carrier tracking (optional). |
| Customer | Customer name. Required. |
| Comment | Internal note. |
| PROFORMA invoice customization | Date, recipient name, recipient address (same behavior as regular shipments). |
Step 4 — Save
Buttons: Create, Create and go back, Create and new, Create and duplicate.
Upon confirmation:
- The return moves to the In transit status.
- The original units on the original company's side move to the Return transit status (they are neither in active stock nor sold — they are awaiting physical receipt).
- For a B2B return: a shipment is automatically created with the information entered in the dedicated panel, following its own flow (In preparation → In transit → Invoiced).
- The return stays pending physical receipt on the receiving company's side.
Good to know — If several units in the return belong to different original companies, the system shows a dialog "Please enter the invoice numbers for each shipment to be created": you enter a separate number per company, and the system creates one shipment per original company.
