Creating a store transfer
A store transfer is used to move units from one store to another, within the same company. A typical case: sending a dozen pairs from the warehouse to a shop, or reorganizing stock between two shops of the same brand.
Unlike a deposit, there is no change of owner: the units keep their original internal reference, only the location changes.
When should you use a store transfer rather than a deposit?
| Case | Type to use |
|---|---|
| Moving units between two cities of the same company | Store transfer |
| Handing units to another company within the tenant | Deposit |
| Getting back units that were previously deposited | Return - deposit |
Creating a store transfer
Menu Commerce > Internal warehouses, New button.
The form is identical to a deposit's, with two differences:
- In Deposit type, select Store transfer (instead of Deposit).
- All added units must belong to the receiving company. If you try to add a unit from another company, the system refuses with the message: "Product XXX does not belong to the selected company."
The rest (Receiving company, Destination city, adding products, buttons) works the same way as for a deposit.
Upon confirmation:
- The transfer briefly moves to Being validated.
- The units keep their original reference (no new reference with a "D" is generated).
- Their city and location are updated with those of the transfer.
- The transfer moves to the Validated status.
