A shipment represents the sending of one or more stock units to an external recipient: a B2B customer, a partner retail store, a consignment platform, or the GOAT marketplace in consignment mode.
Day to day, shipments cover four very different use cases, each with its own particularities:
- Direct sale ā You sell to a professional or private customer and issue an invoice directly.
- Consignment ā You physically send items to an external consignor. You can link the shipment's products to partner identifiers (e.g. a GOAT product id) when you move the shipment to the next status.
- Consignment listing ā You physically send items to an external consignor. You can link the shipment's products to partner identifiers right when the shipment is created (unlike Consignment, where the partner ids are added at a later step).
- GOAT Consign shipments ā Bulk shipment to the GOAT center in consignment mode. Linked to the GOAT module.

Good to know ā This documentation describes the module as a whole. Some types and actions are only shown depending on your configuration (GOAT, multi-company). The relevant sections point this out.
Statuses
Each shipment type has its own status flow.
Direct sale (Direct sale)
Preparing ā In transit ā Being invoiced ā Invoiced| Status | Color | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Preparing | Orange | Optional step. You are physically preparing the parcels. The PROFORMA invoice is already exportable. |
| In transit | Blue | The products have left for the customer. Tracking is visible on the record. |
| Being invoiced | Orange | The step where you enter the final VAT and net selling price line by line. The invoice will be generated upon confirmation. |
| Invoiced | Gray | Final status. The invoice is issued, the units leave active stock. |
The Preparing step is optional: you can disable it at creation (the Go through "Preparing" before "In transit"? toggle) if you do not prepare parcels within the system.
Consignment (Consignment)
Preparing ā In transit ā ListedFlow for a physical shipment to an external consignor (consignment store). Upon arrival at the consignor, you enter the partner identifiers and the listing date (see the dedicated screen).
Consignment listing (Consignment listing)
ListedA single status: the items are already physically at the consignor's (typical case: you dropped them off in person during a visit, or they were delivered outside the system). You create the shipment only to record that the items have been put up for sale in the system, along with the partner identifiers and date.
GOAT Consign shipments (GOAT Consign shipments)
Preparing ā In transitFlow for shipments to the GOAT center in consignment mode. What happens next (approval, listing, actual sales) is handled by the GOAT module.
Return status
In parallel with the main status, each shipment has an independent return status:
- No (red) ā No return.
- Partial (blue) ā At least one line has been returned (but not all).
- Yes (green) ā All lines have been returned.
Visible in the Return status column of the list and filterable.

Multi-company shipments
When creating a new single shipment, a Multi-company shipment toggle appears. This mode is useful when a single physical shipment includes units belonging to several companies within your organization.
Principle
When you enable this mode, the system automatically creates a separate shipment per company holding the scanned/added units. Each company invoices its own customer (typically the company running the sale).
At the same time, an internal sale is automatically created between the holding company and the company running the operation, to record the accounting transfer prior to the resale.
When to enable it?
- You manage several companies within the same organization (shared warehouses, grouped operations).
- A single physical shipment mixes units from different companies.
- You do not want to manually create internal sales one by one.
Limitations
- This mode is only available at creation (it cannot be turned on afterwards).
- Not available for the GOAT Consign type (the GOAT flow is single-company).
- It assumes the companies involved are properly set up and that the units are attached to the correct company in stock.
